Mural Santarena

Majo Rodríguez (Costa Rica)

Located at Hotel Santarena, Las Catalinas.

Created in 2022, this custom-made mural by Costa Rican artist Majo Rodríguez captures the vibrant spirit of tropical life and the unmistakable Pura Vida feeling that makes Costa Rica so special.

Inspired by the country's lush biodiversity, the mural brings together tropical flowers, expressive foliage, and colorful birds in a lively composition that transforms the surrounding architecture into an immersive botanical landscape. Each element contributes to a sense of movement and natural harmony, bringing the beauty of the outdoors into the heart of Hotel Santarena.

For the artist, creating this work was an experience that went beyond painting. Surrounded by the ocean breeze, the sounds of music, and the everyday rhythms of the hotel, the process became a moment of calm, connection, and inspiration. The enthusiasm of guests who returned each morning to see the mural take shape became part of the experience, particularly their appreciation for the expressive personalities of the birds.

The result is a celebration of Costa Rica's tropical identity, where art, nature, and hospitality come together to create a welcoming and joyful atmosphere.

Visitors are invited to take a closer look at the birds, flowers, and intricate details throughout the mural, discovering the small surprises that bring this vibrant scene to life.
