Mural Celeste

Majo Rodríguez (Costa Rica)

Located at Celeste, Las Catalinas.

Created for Celeste, a seaside restaurant in Las Catalinas, this hand-painted mural by Costa Rican artist Majo Rodríguez celebrates the beauty of tropical flora through a fresh, monochromatic palette.

The composition features botanical forms and expressive flowers rendered in shades of blue, white, and light blue, creating a delicate interplay of shapes and tones. Inspired by the lush vegetation of the tropics, the mural brings the natural world into the restaurant's setting, complementing the ocean views and the relaxed atmosphere of coastal life.

The monochromatic approach gives the work a distinctive character. Rather than relying on a broad range of colors, Rodríguez explores the expressive possibilities of a limited palette, using subtle contrasts and botanical details to create depth, movement, and visual harmony.

Hand-painted directly onto the wall, the mural becomes an integral part of the space, connecting art, architecture, and the surrounding landscape. Its floral motifs and cool blue tones evoke the tranquility of the sea while celebrating the richness of tropical nature.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the mural as part of the Celeste experience, discovering its botanical details against the beautiful seaside setting.
