Estudio Rambar is a contemporary art platform based in Las Catalinas, a coastal town in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Founded by artist and architect Ale Rambar and his partner, cultural consultant Gonz Solórzano, the platform connects contemporary Costa Rican art with international audiences through collaborations, cultural projects and artist representation.
Located steps away from the Pacific Ocean, the residency offers an opportunity to develop artistic research and creation within a tropical environment shaped by nature, architecture, biodiversity and Costa Rican culture. The selected artist will be immersed in a unique setting designed to encourage reflection, inspiration and connection.
The residency includes accommodation, studio space, basic production support and materials for the development of new work, meetings with collectors and local creatives, and a solo presentation at Estudio Rambar. Selected works may also become part of a group exhibition hosted by the platform for an extended period.
In exchange, the selected artist will donate one artwork created during the residency to Estudio Rambar’s collection, allowing the piece to remain connected to the platform and become part of future exhibitions and cultural programming.
Estudio Rambar represents a growing network of more than 100 Costa Rican artists working across disciplines including painting, sculpture, installation, ceramics, textile, photography, writing and performance. The platform focuses on contemporary practices that engage with tropical identity, landscape, materiality and the relationship between art, space and wellbeing.
Through this residency, Estudio Rambar seeks to foster cultural exchange while creating meaningful connections between international artists and the contemporary art scene of Costa Rica.
